My background is in social research, with a strong emphasis on public health and the NHS across the UK. Over the years, I’ve led quantitative research projects on diverse issues, including lifestyles, physical activity, mental health, tobacco and vaping, organ donation, GP access, patient experience, social care housing options, cancer symptoms, and technology-assisted care.
My connection with Health Equalities Group began in 2003, when I evaluated the impact of the Heart of Mersey launch campaign. Today, my primary focus is on developing and rolling out the NHS Prevention Pledge, working with all 17 provider Trusts in Cheshire and Merseyside and now piloting the Pledge in primary care settings. I’m also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Bath, where I have co-designed a tracking study on NHS staff retention.
Outside of work, I stay active by playing football and cricket, climbing mountains, and attending obscure gigs. I also carry the burden of a season ticket at Everton.
